Home Monitoring Without Cameras

Know their day is going normally.
Without a camera in their home.

For anyone worried about a vulnerable or isolated person living on their own. A small tag they wear or keep with them, and a few discreet sensors that plug into the wall. You get a simple picture of the day, and a message on your phone if something looks out of the ordinary. Nothing sees them, hears them or records what they are doing.

If this is you

You ring every morning just to check they got up
An unanswered call sends your mind somewhere awful
They have said no to cameras, and fair enough
You live interstate, or just too far to pop in
You can't tell if they are eating or sleeping properly
  • No cameras and no microphones
  • They don't need a smartphone
  • Installed by us, in person

Simple for Them. Clear for You.

There is nothing for them to learn, charge or press. The system just notices which room they are in, the same way your phone notices it is near your car.

1 🔑

A small tag

About the size of a coin. Worn as a pendant or wristband, clipped to clothing, or kept on the house keys. It runs for months on a small battery, so there is no nightly charging.

2 🔌

A sensor in each main room

A small unit that plugs into a power point in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living area. No drilling, no wiring. It listens for the tag and nothing else.

3 📲

Updates on your phone

See how the day is going whenever you like, and get a message if something is out of the ordinary. Family, a support worker or a neighbour can be added too.

The Shape of the Day, at a Glance

Not a live feed and not a list of every step. Just enough to know the day went the way it normally does.

A Message When the Day Looks Different

You choose which alerts matter and when they go off, to suit their routine. A late riser should not trigger a false alarm every morning.

🌅

Not up by the usual time

Still in the bedroom well past the time they normally get up.

"Still in the bedroom. Usually up by 7:30."
🛁

A long time in the bathroom

One of the most common places for a fall, and one where a camera is the last thing anyone wants.

"In the bathroom for 40 minutes."
⏸️

No movement between rooms

Hours in one room during the day when they would normally be moving around the house.

"No movement between rooms for 3 hours."
🌙

Out at night

Left the house in the middle of the night, which can be an early sign of confusion or wandering.

"Left the house at 2:14am."
🍽️

Kitchen not visited

No time in the kitchen by lunchtime, a gentle hint that meals may be being skipped.

"No kitchen visits yet today."
🏷️

Tag not seen

The tag hasn't been picked up for a while, usually just left on the bedside table, but worth a call.

"Tag hasn't been seen since 10:05am."

Their Home Stays Their Home

Most people say no to cameras for a very good reason, and being vulnerable doesn't make someone's privacy worth any less. This works the other way around: it only knows the handful of things you need to feel reassured.

What it knows

Enough to reassure you
  • Which room they are in, roughly
  • When they got up and when they went to bed
  • How long they spent in the bathroom or kitchen
  • Whether they went out, and when they came home
  • Whether today looks like a normal day for them

What it never knows

Because it can't
  • What they look like. There are no cameras.
  • What they say. There are no microphones.
  • What they are doing in the room, only that they are in it.
  • Where they go outside the home. It is not GPS.
  • Who visits, unless that person wears a tag too.

Information is kept on servers in Australia, and only the people you invite can see it. We strongly recommend talking it through with the person first. It works best, and feels best, when they are part of the decision rather than the subject of it.

Why Not Just Motion Sensors?

Motion sensors see movement, not people. A tag tells you it was the right person who moved, and that makes all the difference to how much you can trust an alert.

🐈

The cat doesn't count

Pets, curtains in a breeze and the carer vacuuming don't trigger anything. Only the tag does.

👫

More than one person is fine

Everyone in the house has their own tag, so you know how each of them is going, not just that someone is moving.

🧑‍⚕️

Visitors don't blur the picture

A support worker or neighbour in the kitchen doesn't make it look as though they had lunch.

📡

Built by radio specialists

Bluetooth signals leak through walls. We tune each sensor to its own room so the kitchen isn't confused with the lounge next door.

What it is, and what it isn't

It is not an emergency button. It notices when a routine changes and tells you, which can take a little time by design. If they need to be able to call for help instantly, pair it with a personal alarm pendant. The two work well together.

It does not detect falls directly. It notices the things that often follow one, like a long time in one room or no movement at all, and lets you know.

It only works when the tag is with them. We help pick the style they are most likely to keep on, and the system tells you when the tag hasn't been seen for a while.

It is not a medical device and doesn't replace care, visits or phone calls. It just means the phone call can be a chat instead of a check.

We Do the Fiddly Bits

First

A chat with you

About the person, their home, their routine and what worries you most. If it isn't the right fit, we will say so.

At the house

Installation, in person

We plug in the sensors, check each room is picked up properly, and choose a tag style with them. Usually an hour or two, and we explain everything as we go.

First fortnight

Learning the routine

We set the alerts together using what a normal day actually looks like for them, so you get messages that matter and not constant false alarms.

Ongoing

Someone to call

If something isn't working, you talk to the people who installed it. Alerts can be adjusted any time as needs change.

Frequently Asked

They don't need a smartphone and don't need to do anything at all. The sensors do need a way to send updates. If the home has Wi-Fi we use that. If it doesn't, we can supply a connection that uses the mobile network instead.

Then the system can't see them, and it will tell you the tag hasn't been seen for a while. It is the most common hiccup, so we spend time choosing a style they are happy to keep with them. Many people find a keyring or a clip easier than jewellery.

Splash resistant tag styles are available, and the bathroom is exactly where you want it to work. We will recommend a specific tag based on how they will wear it.

Only the people you invite. That might be you, another family member, a support worker, or a neighbour who lives close by. The person themselves can see it too if they would like to. We never sell or share it.

Yes. The sensors plug into ordinary power points and nothing is screwed to the walls, so there is nothing to make good when you leave.

A personal alarm relies on them pressing a button, which isn't possible if they are unconscious, confused or simply don't want to make a fuss. This notices changes in the day without them doing anything. The two are complementary, and many households use both.

We are based in Adelaide and Melbourne. Talk to us about other locations and we will let you know what is possible.

It depends on the size of the home and how many people are being monitored. Get in touch and we will give you a clear price for installation and ongoing service before anything is booked.

No Obligation

Not sure if it suits your situation? Let's just talk it through.

Tell us about the person you're worried about and what's on your mind. We will be honest about whether this is the right answer, or whether something else would serve them better.
